PURPOSE
This course provides current information on Community Associated Methicillin-Resistant Staph Aureus (CA-MRSA). The content includes an in-depth discussion of community associated MRSA, including epidemiology, resistance patterns, disease manifestations, treatment and controversies regarding CA-MRSA.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is intended for physicians, physician’s assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners and other interested health care providers.

  • Identify the key differences between CA-MRSA and HA-MRSA
  • Review the epidemiology of CA-MRSA
  • Discuss the management of suspected CA-MRSA infections
  • Describe the varied clinical presentations for invasive CA-MRSA infections

There are no prerequisites for participation in this online CME course. The estimated time to view the presentation and complete the evaluation and post-test is 1.25 hours. A passing grade of 75% is required. Helpful Hint:

print a copy of the post test before you view the presentation and you can answer the questions as you go through the program. And if you are unsure of an answer, you can scroll though the slides to help determine the correct answer.

To receive credit, the participant should follow these steps:

  • View the online lecture.
  • Complete the online registration ($10 registration fee)
  • Print a copy of the post-test, complete the post-test and the evaluation, and mail or fax it to the Division of Continuing Education.
  • Credit letters will be mailed within 2-4 weeks after completing the course.
  • NOTE: The first 250 people who complete the post-test and evaluation will be granted CE credit through GUARD at no cost.
