32nd Annual Pediatric Update
July 13-15, 2009

“Thank you for providing the perfect venue for CME.”
“It was great as usual. Great topics and a great variety.”
“I love Kiawah. It’s beautiful. It’s family-friendly.”
“Excellent. I will return next year.”

Kiawah Island Resort, Kiawah Island, SC

Reduced Registration for 2009

Overview
The 2009 Pediatric Update promises to be another exciting Course. Topics this year have been selected by survey of participants in last year’s course, and by review of recent advances in the Pediatric literature. We will cover Adolescent Medicine, Pediatric Endocrinology, Pediatric Neurology, Developmental Pediatrics, Nutrition, and General Pediatrics. Two workshops should help improve your practice’s bottom line – one on“Higher-Margin Services and Products in Your Practice”, and “Coding and Reimbursement in the Primary Care Office Setting.”

The course and completion of both the Pre-test and Post-test, will provide
13.75 hours of CME credit. The Course includes 1 hour of education in
Medical Error Prevention, 1 hour in Child Abuse and an additional hour
in Domestic Abuse, each of which are now a CME requirement

for license renewal in many states.

The speakers are nationally and internationally recognized as excellent
teachers. Each lecture will include time for questions and answers.

Objectives
This course should enable participants to:

  • Recognize ambiguous genitalia, guide the diagnostic evaluation and
    counsel parents
  • Diagnose and manage the causes of menstrual disorders in adolescents
  • Detect subtle signs of domestic violence
  • Evaluate and refer children with developmental disorders
  • Identify children at risk of hyperlipidemias
  • Rationally use hypoallergenic formula
  • Screen for sexually transmitted diseases in adolescents
  • Identify opportunities to increase practice revenue and code correctly

Year after year, this course receives high marks from participants. You and your family will return home relaxed, invigorated and educated.

Golf at Kiawah

Kiawah Island Resort
Located on the Atlantic Ocean only 21 miles from historic Charleston, Kiawah Island has been developed into one of America’s choice destinations while preserving the environmental richness of its barrier island setting. Kiawah’s natural beauty and bountiful wildlife have been carefully preserved amid golf courses referred to as the “Pebble Beach of the East Coast” and a tennis program ranked among the top 10 in the United States. Ten miles of broad, sparkling beach ranked the Second Most Romantic Beach in America invite you to explore all the opportunities that Kiawah offers for recreation, education and renewal.

Kiawah Beach

During free time, you and your family can enjoy the unspoiled beach, large, cool swimming pools and the spa with therapeutic massage, saunas and hot tubs. Golfers will enjoy the challenge of Kiawah’s five championship golf courses. Imagine the thrill of testing your skills on the course that hosted the 1991 Ryder Cup, or walking the course that was the setting for the movie, Bagger Vance. Avid tennis players can easily find a game or a lesson at the two nationally known tennis centers. Parents and kids appreciate well-organized children’s and teen recreation programs and evening children’s activities enable parents to enjoy a quiet evening together at one of the restaurant choices on the island. In addition, the shops and culture of the historical city of Charleston are nearby for you and your family to explore and enjoy.
