LOCATION
The course is held at Kiawah Island, a relaxing, family-friendly coastal resort near the historic city of Charleston, South Carolina. Kiawah is world-famous for its golf courses and its family friendly atmosphere. It was the course used in filming the movie Bagger Vance. Kiawah’s ten mile – long uninterrupted private beach is one of the nation’s top ten beaches according to the Travel Channel. There are about 10 miles of bike trails, and family activities are scheduled almost every night. These include rock climbing, carnivals in Night Heron Park, and other activities that appeal to all ages. Kiawah is also a nature preserve with hundreds of species of plants, birds and alligators. Kiawah’s naturalists are available for kayaking, birding expeditions, fishing trips and other outdoor activities. Kiawah’s full service hotel, The Sanctuary, won the coveted Mobil Five Star Award!
Kiawah is also ranked number two in Tennis Magazine’s greatest tennis resorts. Kiawah has nine restaurants that offer a variety of memorable dining experiences. There are two award - winning restaurants in the Sanctuary. There have been several additions to the restaurant choices that range from the exquisite to the family friendly.
