This could be your “Last Chance”, “First Chance” or “Best Chance” for Continuing Education at MCG this year. This is the last chance to get CE credits from MCG this calendar year, so check on your CE credits for your state’s licensure. It is also a first chance for some of you to meet and hear many of the new faculty at MCG. Finally, it may be the best chance to get the most hours per day of CE credit and hear some outstanding CE speakers. We are especially delighted to welcome an alumnus of MCG's prosthodontics residency, Dr. Marc Moskowitz, for the esthetic portion. Dr. Moskowitz was a featured clinician at the Thomas P. Hinman Dental Meeting last year, and I know you will enjoy his private practice expertise in the area of porcelain veneers. The program is two full

PURPOSE
Anterior esthetics and porcelain veneers are mainstays in private practice. This course offers a chance to learn from a clinician in private practice whose primary focus is anterior esthetics and porcelain veneers
Many of the MCG School of Dentistry faculty are involved with the exciting changes in the world of dentistry. This course will showcase the work of the new MCG faculty, giving an overview of the topics in which they are involved and how the practice of dentistry will change in the coming days.

Education
Dr. Van Haywood, professor in the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry Department of Oral
Rehabilitation, is a 1974 alumnus of MCG. He practiced in Augusta, Georgia and taught at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry before joining the MCG faculty in 1993.
Dr. Marc Moskowitz, an Atlanta prosthodontist focusing on complex restorative, implant and esthetic dentistry, earned his dental degree with honors from Georgetown University and completed a periodontal prosthesis/fixed prosthodontics residency at MCG. He is a consultant for U.S. Army periodontal and prosthodontics residency programs and is a visiting faculty in MCG’s Department of Oral Rehabilitation. He is a Pierre Fauchard Academy fellow and was a founding board member and advisor to the Seattle Study Club of Atlanta.
Dr. Daniel Levy Bercowski is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the MCG School of Dentistry and a member of the Craniofacial Team within the MCG Craniofacial Center. Dr. Levy obtained his D.D.S. degree and Master of Science in Pediatric Dentistry in Venezula. He earned a Master of Dental Sciences and Certificate in Orthodontics at the University of Puerto Rico, with additional training in Pre-Surgical Orthopedics for Cleft Lip and Palate.
Dr. Jeril Cooper III maintained a private general practice for 30 years before joining MCG as assistant team leader for senior dental students in the Comprehensive Care Program. His faculty practice emphasizes esthetics and multidiscipline cases. He is a member of the American Dental Association and Georgia Dental Association and is an Academy of General Dentistry fellow.ADA, GDA, and is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Scott DeRossi, chairman and associate professor of oral medicine, diagnosis and radiology, earned his dental degree and completed postdoctoral oral medicine training at the University of Pennsylvania. He practiced oral medicine for over 11 years and was an assistant professor of oral medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine before joining MCG. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral Medicine and a past recipient of the University of Pennsylvania’s Earl Bank Hoyt Teaching Award. He co-authored Burket’s Oral Medicine and has lectured and published extensively on all aspects of oral medicine.
Dr Sajitha Kalathingal,
assistant professor of oral diagnosis and patient services, earned a dental degree from Mangalore University and a master’s degree in oral and maxillofacial radiology from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. At MCG, she teaches predoctoral and graduate radiology courses and manages radiology clinics. She also maintains a private practice with advanced two- and three-dimensional imaging capabilities. She researches digital imaging and applications of three-dimensional imaging in various dental disciplines.
Dr. Glenn I. Maze, director of advanced periodontics, earned a dental degree from the University of Iowa. His career has included serving as a general dental officer in the U.S. Air Force; practicing periodontics in Ames, Iowa; and serving on the faculties of the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the University of Iowa. He joined MCG's faculty in 2006. He has extensive experience with bone and soft-tissue grafting, periodontitis treatment, dental implant surgery and esthetic periodontal procedures.
Dr. Kalu U.E. Ogburekeis, assistant professor of oral biology and maxillofacial pathology with joint appointments in pathology and graduate studies, earned a dental degree from the University of Ibadan in Nigeria, a master’s degree in medical sciences from the University of Glasgow, a law degree from Suffolk University and a doctorate in oral biology from Harvard University. He completed a dental surgery fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeons in England and a clinical research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health. He also completed a graduate certificate program in the business of medicine from Johns Hopkins University. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and principal investigator of a grant identifying markers for oral cancer.
Dr. Steven Roberts, director of undergraduate endodontics, earned his dental degree from New York University and joined MCG’s faculty after retiring from the U.S. Army in 2006. He completed an endodontics residency at Fort Gordon, Ga., and was deputy director of the U.S. Army Endodontics Residency Program. He received the 2000 first-place Bernier Award for research. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and has lectured internationally on the specialty.
Dr. Ulf ME Wikesjö, professor of periodontics, oral biology and maxillofacial pathology and graduate studies, earned his D.D.S. and Ph.D. from Lund University in Sweden and his D.M.D. from Temple University. He completed advanced periodontology training at Lund and Loma Linda University. He directs MCG’s Laboratory for Applied Periodontal & Craniofacial Regeneration and adjunct professor of periodontology at Malmo University in Sweden. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and is on the editorial board of several periodontology and implant dentistry journals.
