Enamel Therapy: The Next Generation of Care
Judy Zack Bendit, R.D.H., B. S.
A changing paradigm in caries management has widened our decisions in dental preventive care. With terms such as “minimally invasive” and “remineralization technologies,” we are faced with a new decision model in diagnosing and treating the caries disease process. This program will review
the historic trends in caries control and present the rationale for implementing fluoride varnish to the adult patient population. New products containing remineralization agents have emerged in preventive care and it is essential for all professionals to become familiar with their mechanism of action.

Course Objectives

  • Discuss trends in the management of caries in all patient profiles and age groups.
  • Identify the diagnostic changes utilized in evaluating the caries process.
  • Discuss and implement the use of the CAMBRA and new risk assessment tools.
  • List the key steps in the medical model in identifying and arresting caries.
  • Compare and discuss the current delivery systems which contain technologies claiming enamel restoration and remineralization.
  • Formulate an effective treatment plan in enamel therapy.

Professional and Predictable Tooth Whitening
Judy Zack Bendit, R.D.H., B. S.
This course provides an overview of tooth whitening that includes patient selection, chemistry, and marketing esthetic choices to your dental clientele.
Whether a patient benefits most from over-the-counter, in-office or take-home-tray methods will be decided based on the individual’s dentition, lifestyle habits and expectations. Participants will also be introduced to steps for marketing whitening services in their practice setting.

Course Objectives

  • Review the chemistry of currently available tooth whitening materials.
  • Compare the techniques for using take-home and in-office bleaching materials.
  • Correctly use tooth whitening materials to avoid tooth sensitivity and increase patient compliance.
  • Provide suggestions for successfully marketing take-home bleaching in the private practice setting
