Advanced Botulinum Toxin
Treatment of Neurological Disorders

A Hands-On Workshop for Neurologists and Neurology Fellows
to Present the Current Trends in Botulinum Toxin Treatment

Purpose and Objectives
The Advanced Botulinum Toxin Workshop will provide first-hand experience with evaluation and injection techniques for patients with oromandibular dystonia, writer’s cramp, spasticity, pain and spasmodic dysphonia. Participants should have some experience with botulinum toxin by either having attended our basic course or its equivalent.

This program, should enable participants to:

  • Evaluate patients with dystonic tremors to distinguish them from a fixed cervical dystonia with compensatory movements
  • Evaluate and treat patients with oro-mandibular dystonia
  • Evaluate and treat patients with focal limb dystonia
  • Evaluate and treat patients with spasticity
  • Evaluate and treat patients with low back pain, myofascial pain and headache with botulinum toxin
  • Evaluate and treat patients with spasmodic dysphonia
     

Target Audience
The educational activity is designed for anesthesiologists, neurologists and physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians.

Enrollment in this course is limited and advance registration is required. The registration fee for this course is $300 and is refundable, less a $50 administrative charge, if notification of cancellation is received by February 8, 2008.
