School of Allied Health Sciences: Physician Assistant
CURRICULUM
The curriculum of the Department of Physician
Assistant as presented below can be completed during 24 consecutive months.
Due to the dynamic nature of the profession, required courses and clinical
rotations may change. Curricular changes may result in additional
requirements. Students are responsible for completion of all requirements
deemed appropriate by the faculty. The program is conducted as a sequence of
three phases; Phase I is the only period of training which is completed
entirely on the MCG campus.
All students must be prepared to travel to facilities
in Georgia and South Carolina during clinical training in the second year.
Financial assistance for these additional expenses cannot be guaranteed.
The first year consists of both basic science and
clinically related didactic courses. It is provided during the summer, fall
and spring semesters of the first year. All courses are required and must be
successfully completed prior to beginning the clinical phase of training.
