This program educates advanced nurse clinicians for expert
practice in leadership and clinical roles. This
doctoral-level education provides the clinical and management expertise
necessary to improve outcomes in the practice arenas of health care, leadership
and teaching. The program enables nurses to become
expert nurse leaders and collaborators in solving health care problems in
systems. This degree enables nurses to become experts
in practice and contribute to issues faced in the field.
This program infuses the nursing community with qualified educators who
can work with students in new practice arenas, demonstrating evidence-based
approaches to health care using strategic problem solving skills.

Career Opportunities
Doctors of nursing practice are afforded opportunities available to experts
in clinical practice area, including higher education settings.
Admission Requirements

Master’s degree in nursing or related field

Official transcripts from all post-secondary academic
study
-
GRE 900 or MAT 450; may be waived with cumulative GPA
of 3.25 (Master’s degree)

Current professional nurse licensure
-
Certification in specialty as appropriate
- Current CV or Resume
- Graduate Level Biostatistics (Grade of "B" or higher) taken within the last 5 years
- Graduate Level Epidemiology (Grade of "B" or higher) taken within the last 5 years
Two-page paper detailing concept of the role of a
doctor of nursing practice

Personal interview

Three letters of recommendation

Experience in a specialty area indicating mastery in
nursing practice

If applicable, a TOEFL score of 600 paper-based, 250 computer-based, or 100 internet based is required. Test must have been taken with the last 2 years.

scholarship
