Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia
Created in 1931, the Board of Regents is the governing body of Georgia's 34 state-supported colleges and universities, which collectively enroll more than 233,000 students and employ more than 9,000 faculty and 35,000 employees to provide teaching and related services to students and the communities in which they are located. The Board is composed of 18 members and elects a chancellor who serves as its chief executive officer and the chief administrative officer of the University System.
Medical College of Georgia
As the state of Georgia's only university devoted solely to the health sciences, the mission of the Medical College of Georgia is to improve health and reduce the burden of illness in society by discovering, disseminating, and applying knowledge of human health and disease. Established in 1828, MCG enrolls approximately 2,000 students annually in its 44 academic programs in the schools of Allied Health Sciences, Dentistry, Graduate Studies, Medicine, and Nursing. The MCG Health System, which includes the institution's clinical facilities, employs more than 7,000 faculty and staff and has a $1.5 billion impact on the region.
Physicians Practice Group
Physicians Practice Group is an unincorporated association established as the academic faculty practice plan for MCG's School of Medicine in 1958. PPG is a cooperative organization of the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia and is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of School of Medicine clinical department chairs, elected officers, and elected general membership trustees. With approximately 350 members and more than 150 business office employees, PPG revenues support several campus-wide programs and School of Medicine initiatives.
Georgia Cancer Coalition
The mission of the Georgia Cancer Coalition is to reduce the number of cancer deaths in the state. In so doing, Georgia intends to become a national leader in cancer control by accelerating prevention, early detection, treatment and research.
Georgia Research Alliance
The Georgia Research Alliance is an internationally acclaimed model for bringing business, research universities and state government together to create and sustain a vibrant, technology-driven economy for the state. The Alliance’s affiliated universities are (in order of date founded): The University of Georgia, Medical College of Georgia, Emory University, Clark Atlanta University, the Georgia Institute of Technology and Georgia State University.
Gleeds Castell, Project Manager
Established in 1885, Gleeds is an international construction consultancy offering a wide range of construction management services focusing heavily on project management and cost control. Gleeds is engaged as exclusive Program Manager to coordinate and monitor the development, design, construction and furnishing of the Cancer Center project. Working with the Medical College of Georgia and the Physicians Practice Group, Gleeds will negotiate the final contract price, consult in the preparation of a Construction Manager’s agreement, evaluate time/cost impact on construction schedules, coordinate and preside over all job meetings, and determine and implement a construction phase accounting and recordkeeping system with respect to the project.
R.J. Griffin & Company, General Contractor
Established in 1985, the Atlanta-based R.J. Griffin & Company offers traditional general contracting services, preconstruction, construction management, and design/building services. R.J. Griffin’s primary role in the new Cancer Center is to manage all aspects of the estimation and construction phases of the project. During the preconstruction phase, R.J. Griffin will provide the client with an accurate construction budget and valuable cost-saving alternatives. As construction progresses, R.J. Griffin will coordinate and schedule all construction activities for a timely completion within the project budget.

Cooper Carry, Inc., founded in 1960, is a multi-disciplinary planning/design firm based in Atlanta, with offices in New York and Washington. The firm is structured into specialty practice groups such as Laboratory, Healthcare, Education, Corporate, Office, Hospitality, Residential and Retail. As the lead Architectural Firm, Cooper Carry has assembled the following team of design professionals, each of whom has made unique contributions to the design of this "world-class" Cancer Center:
