Rod Mackert stated he would have a document for review linking the bylaws to the strategic plan at or before the next meeting.
Rod Mackert emphasized the Teaching and Technology Expo endorsed by Dr. Goldstein needs to be designed and implemented in the Fall, possibly November or December. He wishes to consider garnering vendor support and donated food to encourage participation. He requested a trial demo of possible materials by the next meeting. Clare Billman noted this may be difficult due to their heavy workload with the upcoming semester courses. Further discussions on this topic and its planning will occur.
Dr. Mackert has discussed the formation of the ARCAB Student Liaison Committee with Charles Poole, the new SGA president. After classes have started, he will help select representatives from each school.
Rod Mackert described the yearly cycle for the ARCAB is March to February. Its inception was 3/2001. Rod distributed a roster with terms of member service to the committee.
Clare Billman provided a very nice electronic demonstration of the EyeSpy Technology allowing exceptional Web visualization of high resolution images. This is available on campus and will be also utilized by other schools in the near future.
Fran Omar demonstrated a dial-up service for distance presentations, Mshow. This offered the possibility of web-conferencing and remote Power Point presentations. This program allows participant tracking and profiles and may have CE applications. However, this program does not work with Macintosh platforms.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:50 pm.
The next meeting of ARCAB will be held at 1:00 pm on September 23, 2002.
Respectfully submitted,
Roman Cibirka
