| Library: | Worked with OEDD to develop flip cards for new students. Examples were distributed. |
| Classroom Services: | Two projectors (of three) were placed in the SOD. Three projectors were hung in the R & E building. One was hung in the small auditorium. Distance learning classroom upgrades are underway. |
Fran Omar and Clare Billman described the use of Genesys for distance application. Three systems were tested. Genesys transmits web-enabled information via the phone. A demonstration will be planned for a future meeting.
A new server is now in the Office of Web Technology (Becky Rogers’ area) allowing for large, high resolution images to be carried without loss of quality. The server is being evaluated to determine the parameters for its campus utilization.
Rod Mackert distributed and reviewed a report on his April 24th meeting with Doogie Howser and Dr. Barry Goldstein.
Chris White noted that the SOM is making the use of e-mail mandatory for students. Failure to comply will be reflected in their evaluations. It was pointed out in the ensuing discussion concerning that MCG policy prohibits the distribution of grades electronically via e-mail, due to the lack of server security when accessed from a remote site.
The future of Internet2 was discussed. Mike Miller questioned the type of infrastructure required.
The Bylaws amendments were unanimously approved.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 pm.
The next meeting of ARCAB will be held at 1:00 pm on July 22, 2002 in the President’s Conference Room.
