How to Add a Calendar Event

Overview
The campus calendar, accessible from the MCG Home Page and MyMCG Web portal, offers all departments and units a central location for posting events. The Campus Calendar includes individual calendars for numerous types of events - continuing education, alumni relations, research seminars, individual school events, campus-wide celebrations, etc. For more information, see the calendar description and administrators.

Items posted to the calendars must be events and activities occurring at or sponsored by the Medical College of Georgia – personal items and off-campus activities are not permitted. No item may run for longer than one week prior to the date of the event without written approval from the Office of Strategic Communications.

Posting Calendar Events

• Select a Calendar - You can only post your event to one calendar so choose the calendar that is most appropriate for your event.
• Click on ADD EVENT on the right side of the calendar.
• Enter Date
• Enter Start and End Time - If the event spans more than one day make sure that you choose the correct repeat function.
• Enter Event Title
• Click on the Category drop-down window. Choose the category that describes the event that you are posting. If none apply choose unspecified.
• Enter Description - Please remember to be keep your description as brief as possible.
• Enter Location
• Enter Event URL (if your event has a web page)
• Enter Your Name and Email
• Click on Submit Event

Once your event has been submitted, an email will be sent to the calendar administrator who will review the submission and if approved, will post the message to the calendar. If the event is not approved, you will be notified by the calendar administrator. If you have a question pertaining to the approval or disapproval of your event please contact the administrator of the calendar.
