Normal Irradiator Operating Procedures |
| 1) Insert the key and turn the power switch to "On." |
| 2) Unlock the sample chamber door <F1>. |
| 3) Load the sample in the sample holder. |
| 4) Close the door. |
| 5) Select the "Auto Mode." |
| 6) Select vent "On/Off" <F3>. |
| 7) Set the desired irradiation time. |
| 8) Press "Clear." |
| 9) Enter time. |
| 10) Verify correct set point. |
| 11) Perform the exposure rate check with the Ion-chamber survey meter while the unit is in operation. |
| 12) Measure exposure rate at the front of the sample chamber. |
If the survey meter reading exceeds background by more
than
2000 uR/hr.

Press "Stop". |

Vacate the room. |

Post- Irradiation Procedure
| 1) Unlock the sample chamber door <F1>. |
| 2) Remove the sample. |
| 3) Turn the key to the "Off" position. |
| 4) Remove the key. |
| 5) Turn the survey meter off. |
| 6) Return the meter to the storage container. |
