Mahesh Distinguished Research Award:
(One individual award per year, non-renewable)

This award recognizes an individual who has made significant sustained contributions to research that provides insights into mechanisms of disease prevention, detection or therapy. The nominee’s research may be focused on basic science, clinical science, clinical outcomes and/or epidemiological research. The nominee should have displayed sustained external funding support as a NIH principal investigator. The nominee should also have displayed outstanding mentoring and leadership qualities.

Nominations must be submitted by two independent faculty on two separate forms (no self nominations). Nomination forms, two letters of support, current CV and supporting documentation should be submitted to the Vice President for Research, Dr. Frank Treiber, CJ-3317 or ftreiber@mcg.edu, no later than August 20, 2007.

Nominations will be considered by an interdisciplinary panel of NIH funded scientists at MCG. The Awardee will be recognized at the 2nd Annual MCGRI Research Awards Banquet on November 2, 2007.

This award is non-renewable.
