Clinical Rotations

Rotation Description
The current rotation schedule for the residents is tailored to provide a wide and in-depth exposure to all facets of orthopaedic surgery with increasing responsibility based on individual advancement over the training period. Rotations are set up to allow interaction among the different residents and faculty members to keep the process stimulating. This allows for maximum exposure to different approaches in the care of musculoskeletal pathology and assists in the formulation of an individuals personalized approach in the care of the patient. We feel that our role here at the Medical College of Georgia is to provide an atmosphere conductive to self-learning and intellectual advancement which the resident can carry on through his entire professional career rather than force feeding facts and figures. It is our role as orthopaedic educators to break the mold created by 20 years of formal schooling and memorization to reshape the individuals thought processes and goals to encourage the lifelong challenge of continued self-advancement in orthopaedic surgery. Furthermore, our rotation schedule is set up to address all aspects of learning in the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains.
