Call / Duty Hours

The call schedule and duty hours are designed to ensure that  residents are not working under a condition of fatigue. We strictly adhere to ACGME resident work rules. Call and work hours during the PGY-1 year are scheduled by the surgical specialty on which the resident is rotating. All duty hours follow ACGME work rules. During the PGY2 and 3 years, call is taken in the hospital and is every sixth night. PGY-4 and PGY-5 take call every sixth night from home.
