We understand that women have particular needs and concerns related to cardiovascular health. As women age, cardiovascular disease can develop in a way that is different from men. Certain risk factors such as hormone replacement therapy, higher post-heart attack mortality rates, and inherent physiological differences are unique to women. Women can even have different symptoms as they experience a heart attack than men.
We work to identify your risks and treat existing disease. In addition, our physicians are involved in research related to women's heart health in order to gain further understanding. Finally, as an academic center, we are involved in training future cardiologists to care for the cardiovascular health of women.
