Fellowship Program
Fellows performing cath procedure

The purpose of the Cardiology Fellowship Program at the Medical College of Georgia is to train individuals in all the fundamental skills necessary to be an excellent clinical cardiologist.  In addition, it is the aim of the program that individuals obtain specific focused clinical skills.  For individuals desiring to pursue purely clinical careers, the program is designed to provide additional focused training in ultrasonography, nuclear cardiology, electrophysiology, or invasive and interventional cardiology.  The three-year program will prepare the individual for board certification in the subspecialty of cardiovascular disease.

At present, twelve fellows are in the fellowship program.  They serve as consultants and work as members of the coronary care unit team.  They also serve in the nuclear, ultrasound, exercise, electrophysiology, and cardiac catheterization laboratories.  These endeavors occur in the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) Hospital and Clinics and the adjacent Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC).  MCG is a 630-bed center that encompasses both Adult and the stand-alone Children's Medical Center.  The attached Augusta VA is licensed for 400 beds.  Patients are referred from throughout Georgia and also the Southeast for cardiovascular problems, which are both straightforward and complex.

All applications will only be accepted electronically through ERAS.

To apply to the Cardiology Fellowship Training program, please go to ERAS.
