Curriculum Oversight Committee (COC)

Composition

  1. There shall be one Curriculum Committee: The Curriculum Oversight Committee.
  2. The Curriculum Oversight Committee shall consist of module directors from each course and clerkship.
  3. The Curriculum Oversight Committee shall consist of two students from each class.
  4. The Chairman will be the Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs.
  5. Student members shall be selected for these committees through a mechanism determined by the Student Affairs Committee. The term of office is one year.
  6. The Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and the Associate Dean for Curriculum shall be ex-officio, non-voting members of each phase committee.

Function

  1. The committee shall meet bi-monthly to review the curriculum, to evaluate its content and effectiveness, and to review and propose changes in the curriculum. The committee will receive input from the faculty at large on substantive issues prior to submitting its final report to the Faculty Senate for consideration.
