Course Description

The Bangladore Baptist Hospital is a 150 bed, general medicine and surgical hospital in a city of over 6 million people. It is a well-equipped facility, capable of good quality medical care. The majority of the medical staff are Indians. There are about 7,000 outpatients and 700 inpatients per month. The student will function as an intern according to his/her capabilities, experience and interests. He/she will be given such responsibility as he/she is able to assume. The student may work in all or any medical service. He/she will be involved in inpatient and outpatient care and may also serve in the community health division.

Evangelism is a priority in the ministry of the hospital. All Christian staff and volunteers have opportunities for personal witness to patients. There would also be opportunities to lead in bible studies and participate in services for outpatients and inpatients, since its founding, the hospital has been the avenue and door for evangelism and church planning efforts by Southern Baptists in South India.

Qualifications

The student must have completed the third year of medical school.

Spouse

The spouse may accompany if housing is available. Opportunities to help with various aspects of hospital work and spiritual ministry are available according to interests and skills.
