Policy on Individual Graduation Dates
-
The Medical College of Georgia will not post degrees on transcripts nor issue diplomas with graduation dates which precede regular end of term graduation dates for students who are studying in the regular curriculum for their degree and progressing normally toward an end of term graduation date, even if the student completes degree requirements prior to the end of the term.
-
The Medical College of Georgia will graduate a student prior to the end of a term only if:
-
The student is scheduled to graduate later than he or she
would have graduated if the student had graduated with the other members
of his or her class (i.e., the student's graduation has been delayed for
one or more terms); and
-
The student has completed all requirements for the degree
prior to the regular end of the term; and
-
The student can demonstrate to his or her Dean that early
graduation will assist the student in obtaining licensure or employment in
a timely fashion and that graduation at the end of the term would result
in an unnecessary delay in licensure or employment; and
-
Final passing grades for all courses required for the
degree have been received in the Office of the Registrar; and
-
Upon completion of all degree requirements by the student, the Dean of the student's school requests in writing that the Registrar graduate the student effective the day after all final grades for courses required for graduation
have been received in the Office of the
Registrar.
