We are excited about the quality of our clinical education program in the Doctor
of Physical Therapy program at the Medical College of Georgia. Clinical education experiences are designed and planned to afford students
opportunities to demonstrate mastery of the program’s expectations for clinical performance. Students are required to seek assignments that will ultimately provide them with the education and experience they need to function as entry-level practitioners working with clients across the lifespan and the continuum of care.
Our second year DPT students participate in an eight week full-time clinical experience during the summer term. The focus of this course is on evaluation and intervention techniques used in the management of musculoskeletal conditions.
Our third year DPT students participate in two full-time clinical education experiences scheduled during the fall and spring terms.
The expectation is that students will progress toward greater independence and improved consistency and efficiency with
performance in increasingly complex environments and with increasingly complex patient/client problems. By the end of the final
clinical course, we expect that students will be functioning on the level of an entry-level physical therapist.
All required clinical education documents are available for you to complete on-line and should be submitted electronically to pedwards@mcg.edu.
If you are unable to submit electronically, please send documents to the following address:
