Chief Medical Residents 2008-2009

We are proud to represent the Medical College of Georgia Internal Medicine Residency Program as Chief Medical Residents for the 2008-2009 academic year.  Our training here has provided us with a superb skill set we know will benefit us throughout our careers.  As a result of our MCG experience, we are both dedicated to furthering the educational and career goals, as well as overall personal growth, of each and every resident in our program.

Our residents are a hardworking, intelligent, dedicated group of physicians who strive to give their patients the highest standard of care.  The attending physicians who train our residents are committed to the educational needs of these developing physicians, and are routinely praised by both medical students and housestaff for their knowledge, availability, and enthusiasm.

Our training program offers a diverse experience in inpatient and outpatient medicine.  Our inpatient rotations include general internal medicine, medical intensive care, cardiology, hematology/oncology, and nephrology.  We offer clinical outpatient and consultative rotations in the full range of internal medicine subspecialties, as well as general internal medicine and geriatrics.  We also provide instruction in women’s health, otolaryngology, podiatry, neurology, and ophthalmology to ensure that our residents have a comprehensive educational experience.  To augment this, our patient population is very diverse due to our status as a tertiary care referral center for an extensive geographic area.

Our residents and attendings are an affable and fun loving group that enjoys spending time with each other outside the hospital, just as much as working together at MCG.  In addition to the numerous activities Augusta has to offer, we sponsor events such as residents’ night out, softball games, holiday parties, and other social outings to further help residents relax and foster relationships with their peers outside the hospital setting.  These activities have led to a strong sense of camaraderie, which we believe is vital to a positive work environment and residency experience.

In addition to an outstanding medical education, our community offers great weather, minimal traffic, affordable living, and world-class golf.  We invite you to visit us soon at the Medical College of Georgia and look forward to showing you what Augusta has to offer!
