MCG at a Glance

How to Apply

MCG is an equal opportunity employer with applicants given consideration based on their academic aptitude (USMLE scores and transcript), personal characteristics (personal statement, letters of recommendation, and extracurricular activities), and their potential to excel as a leader in Medicine at MCG (interview day). The residency program participates in the Electronic Residency Application System to screen and setup interview dates for qualified applicants.

Once an applicant has been selected to interview, the program coordinator will correspond with the applicant to set up an interview date, which includes most Tuesdays and Fridays during November, December, and January. Usually 6-10 applicants will be interview each day.

After the interview day concludes, faculty interviewers submit evaluations of each applicant, and bimonthly Resident Selection meetings are held to review each interviewed applicants file.

Each applicant is objectively scored based on the above criteria, with current resident input based on interactions during the interview process contributing to the final ranking.  After careful review of the rank list, the Program Coordinator submits the listing to the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).

Interview slots are available on a first come first serve basis, so get your applications in early!
