Tuition Assistance Program The purpose of this policy action is to clarify the fees that can not be waived under this policy and to remove the word "insurance" from the reference "student health insurance fee".  The removal of this word is done due to confusion previously caused. March 2009
Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) The Federal Family and Medical Leave Act has been amended to add two additional qualifying events for leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act.  Both additions deal with leave now available to employees who either have family members in the armed services or who may have a family member injured in the course of military duty.  This change is to ensure compliance with the recently implemented changes to this federal law. March 2009
Employment Beyond Retirment The purpose of this action is to revise the policy to be consistent with the recently revised Board of Regents policy.  The Board of Regents revsion was to allow insitutional presidents to approve the rehiring of retirees rather than requiring Board of Regents approval.  The Board of Regents policy had also been updated to reflect more flexibility on the compensation that may be paid to a rehired retiree so the updated policy reflects that change as well. March 2009
Worker's Compensation/On-The-Job Injuries

DOAS has revised the reporting policy.  Accidents, injuries, exposures, etc. are to be reported to DOAS only if treatment is sought.  Otherwise, a "Incident Only" form is to be completed and submitted to Human Resources Benefits Section.

The weekly benefit was updated to reflect current amount of $525.

October 2008
