Building Coordinator
1.0 Purpose:
To establish the responsibilities and authority of individuals selected to coordinate
changes in the structure or operation of MCG buildings.
2.0 Definition:
A Building Coordinator is the liaison between the building occupants and MCG service
divisions.
3.0 Policy:
3.1 Each building owned or operated by the
Medical College of Georgia shall have a Building Coordinator.
3.2 The Building Coordinator shall be selected
by consultation between the Director of Physical Plant and the Schools/Divisions that
occupy the building.
4.0 Procedure:
4.1 Director, Physical Plant Division
4.1.1 Prepare and maintain a list of appropriate
Building Coordinators by consulting with building occupants.
4.1.2 Distribute list of building coordinators
to appropriate areas, i.e. Lock Shop, Public Safety, etc.
4.2 Building Coordinator
4.2.1 Advise building occupants if a new
Building Coordinator is selected.
4.2.2 Coordinate activities and disseminate, to
building occupants, information pertaining to renovations, maintenance, and policies that
affect the use, appearance, or environment of the building. Consult MCG Policies and
Procedures 1.3.06 (Physical Plant Inter-Departmental Request) and 2.3.02
(Renovation/Cost Estimate Requests) for implementation.
4.2.3 Oversees issuance of keys to ensure proper
control and the continuity of building security. (Policy and Procedure 1.6.24).
4.2.4 Maintain signage standards established by
Facilities Planning. (Consult MCG Signage Manual.)
4.2.5 Coordinate utility cutoffs.
4.2.6 Building insect control (Consult
Environmental Services).
4.2.7 Coordinator of maintenance vehicle parking
(maintenance vehicle parking, other than routine parking in loading zones, is coordinated
to building tenants through the building coordinator by the Public Safety Division).
4.2.8 Any other building activities needing
inter-building coordination and control.
