Populate an EndNote Library: Direct Export method (Ovid)

Ovid MEDLINE and Ovid CINAHL, ScienceDirect

From Ovid's MEDLINE or CINAHL databases:

  1. Search Ovid MEDLINE or CINAHL.
  2. From Ovid's Citation Manager found at the bottom of every result page (Fig. 7):
    • Citations - select citations to be saved (maximum of 200 per save; use Range feature to send several sets of references if saving more than 200).
    • Fields - choose Complete Citation.
    • Citation Format - choose Direct Export.
    • Action - click Save.
  3. EndNote opens - select EndNote Library to receive references (citations).

From ScienceDirect

  1. Search ScienceDirect
  2. Mark recrods for saving. Click Display Checked Docs (confirm saved records)(Fig. 8).
  3. Click Export Citations.
  4. Select citations, export Citations+Abstracts, and RIS file format(Fig. 9).
  5. Click Export.
  6. Choose and EndNote Library.
