Objectives
- Conduct thorough searches for all staff positions and national searches for all faculty
positions
- Define the core competencies and performance standards for all faculty and staff
positions
- Provide training and mentoring for new employees
- Provide opportunities for faculty activities related to professional growth, Academy of
Health Information Professionals (AHIP) certification, promotion and post tenure review
- Link library staff development opportunities to organizational needs and to maintain
individual core competencies
Assessment
- Using performance standards, assess annually the progress of teaching, research, and
service goals for faculty
- Develop a library faculty peer review system
- Use survey to determine library faculty and staff needs to meet excellent performance
- Use performance standards to evaluate staff annually
- Maintain salaries for library faculty and staff equitable to related responsibilities
and demographic conditions
- Measure library faculty and staff turnover, publishing, and professional reputation with
comparator institutions
