Information Services Coordinator/Instructor-Associate Professor The Robert B. Greenblatt, MD Library seeks an innovative and service-oriented Information Services Librarian. The library provides education and information services for the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Allied Health, and the Graduate School, and for health professionals and consumers in the region. Augusta — known as the "Garden City" of the South — is famous for the Masters®, and is Georgia’s second-oldest and second-largest city. It is full of historic charm, atmosphere, and activities to engage varied interests. Augusta's tree-lined streets are home to majestic antebellum mansions and to dozens of shops and restaurants, cultural attractions, and entertainment. In addition to the modest cost of living and affordable housing, Augusta — on the banks of the Savannah River — offers its residents a beautiful historic city with a diverse culture, active arts community and mild climate. Augusta also has two professional sports teams: the Augusta Lynx of the East Coast Hockey League and the Augusta GreenJackets — a minor league (Single A) baseball team affiliated with the San Francisco Giants. Responsibilities: The Information Services Librarian is responsible primarily for the implementation of such instructional delivery and design technologies as WebCT, Apreso, and Camtasia, in support of the pedagogical mission of the the Greenblatt Library. Additionally, the successful candidate will oversee the library’s circulation services and participate in the delivery of educational instruction. The position reports to the Chair of the Education & Information Services Department. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in library science from an American Library Association-accredited program; two years of professional library experience; experience with education technologies and design of instructional support materials; experience in initiating creative and innovative information services programs; proficiency with electronic health information resources; reference service and instructional experience; strong user-focused public services orientation; excellent written communication and interpersonal skills; flexibility to work collaboratively in a cross-trained team environment; evidence of good judgment and organizational skills; and evidence of ability to meet professional standards in librarianship, publication and research, and professional service commensurate with faculty status. Additional Desirable Qualifications: Experience working in an academic health sciences library; subject background in the health or life sciences, or in information technology; experience with chat or virtual reference; and experience in grant writing. Salary & Benefits: Salary dependent on qualifications and experience, minimum $38,000.
