Regenerative Medicine Program

The study of the mechanical, hormonal, and biological interactions between soft and hard tissues that promote tissue healing and regeneration with the goal of using stem cell technology to surgically replace aging or damaged tissue in human patients.

  • Regulation of intracellular vesicle trafficking and gastric acid secretion
  • Role of nutrition and gastrointestinal hormones in bone growth and development
  • Molecular basis of cardiac ischemia and protection
  • Role of the adrenal hormone, aldosterone, in the development of hypertension
  • Molecular mechanisms of cell membrane repair
  • Regulation of skin formation and function
  • Molecular mechanisms responsible for gene regulation in erythroid-lineage cells
