Transgenic Zebrafish Core Laboratory
Instrumentation

Zebrafish embryos are optically transparent and easily accessible for observation and experimental manipulation. To exploit these features the Zebrafish Core is well equipped with the following instrumentation.

Microscopy

  • Zeiss AxioPlan 2 upright microscope
       40X DIC/water objective
       63X DIC/water objective
       100X DIC/oil objective
  • Leica MZ FLIII stereomicroscope
  • Zeiss Stemmi SV11 stereomicroscope
  • Zeiss AxioVert100 inverted microscope with filters for EGFP, YFP, and CFP

Imaging

  • Hammamatsu Orca CCD camera
  • Diagnostics Instruments Spot RT slider camera system
  • Zeiss ZVS video system / Panasonic SVHS time lapse recorder
  • Kodak DCS 420 digital camera

Other Research Equipment

  • Micropoint pulsed nitrogen laser for heat shock and cell ablation.
  • Sutter P-97 horizontal needle puller
  • BioRad CHEF-DR III Pulsed Field Electrophoresis System
  • Macintosh G4 and G3 computers
