Forms and Protocols

Please visit the ES cell lab in the Interdisciplinary Research building, room CA-1059 to submit any service applications using the forms below, or else you can send all required documentation by email.  Preliminary application documents can also be sent by fax to 706-721-7959 but we usually find that gel images and autorad images (if applicable) are not transmitted satisfactorily by fax.  The Core staff will usually respond to any queries and/or submitted application within a day or two.  Service for which a form is not indicated below should be discussed with Core staff by email and a meeting will be arranged if appropriate to gather the details of your job request (e.g. design of PCR-based screening strategy).  A quote for service fees and a work timeline will then be agreed.

The protocols listed below (in pdf format) are standard protocols that we have routinely used but of course are not by any means necessarily the ‘best’ way to prepare the material in question, as methodologies are undoubtedly constantly improving and different investigators have their own preferences with regards to reagents and so on.  Having said this, we would ask that investigators submitting their DNA ready for ES cell electroporation at least adhere to the basic principal that the DNA should be thoroughly repurified after endonuclease-mediated linearization.  This will help to ensure an optimal ES cell electroporation for homologous recombinant clone production.
