Small Animal Behavior Core Laboratory

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I have to be a faculty member of the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) or otherwise affiliated with MCG to request services?
A: No. The small animal behavior core can provide services to other state and federally funded research universities as well as to private companies.

Q: Can the findings from my research be kept strictly confidential?
A: MCG is a state and federally funded institution and as such we are subject to certain disclosure laws concerning any research activities conducted on this campus.  However, we operate in a very professional manner and do not make any unnecessary disclosures of our clients’ data.

Q: Can the laboratory provide the animals for my research?
A: Yes, under certain circumstances we can assist a client in arranging the purchase of the animals needed for their research.  In such cases, the charges for animal purchase are factored into the final invoice.
