Electron Microscopy Core Laboratory
Fees for Standard Procedures

The Core is required to charge fees to recover the cost of providing its services. Our fees are among the lowest charged by any similarly equipped and supported facility in the nation. We have three fee schedules: MCG affiliated faculty, non-MCG affiliated academic faculty, and non-academic or commercial fees.Fees are routinely reviewed by the Core Director and staff and the institution and adjusted as necessary. Investigators receive a copy of our fees during the initial consultation and an estimate of cost of services each time specimens are submitted to the Core.

  • The Core can provide services not shown here. Contact the staff for more information.
  • Investigators are encouraged to consult with the staff before they require services to discuss their projects, services  availability, time frame to delivery, and fees.
  • Investigators not affiliated with MCG or another academic institution and have an interest in submitting specimens to the Core should contact the Core staff or director to determine service availability and fees.
  • A work request form must be filled out at the time specimens are submitted. Work request forms, and a complete fee schedule are available in the Core laboratory.
  • In order for the Core to best serve the entire research community, investigators should notify staff at least 24 hours prior to submitting a sample or scheduling the use of Core equipment.
  • Use of Core equipment is limited to the Core staff and investigators who have been adequately trained in the proper use of the equipment.
