Implantation of brain cannula for injection/infusion $84/rat
Implantation of osmotic pump3 $35/mouse and/or rat
Blood collection $15/mouse and/or rat
Cerebrospinal fluid collection $45/rat
Metabolic cage studies (not including urinalysis) $96/day
 
    1  Additional 50% for non-MCG users.

    2  4 wk duration, longer periods will be at a weekly rate of $135;

  • 75% of this cost is for transmitter refurbishment and calibration, surgical and laboratory supplies, animal pre- and post-operative care;
  • 25% of this cost is for technician time;
  • data are provided as a graph and separately in a MS Excel file;
  •  investigator provides the rat and per diem costs.

    3  Fee includes cost of the alzet osmotic pump
